Singapore is set open up a new mall at Northpoint City, the largest integrated development in Yishun by the fourth quarter of 2017.

Touted as the largest mall in northern Singapore, the 1.33 million sq ft property will house more than 400 shops and dining outlets, while also hosting the 920-unit North Park Residences.

The original Northpoint Shopping Centre which opened in 1992, and will integrated into the development, converting it into the north wing of the upcoming hub.

“When we announced the development of Northpoint City back in 2014, we envisioned it to be an integral part of Yishun’s Remaking Our Heartland Programme, as we aimed to revitalise Yishun Centre with its presence,” said chief executive officer of Frasers Centrepoint Singapore Christopher Tang in a statement obtained by Channel News Asia.

“Northpoint City will bring a new-found vibrancy to the area, just as our landmark Northpoint Shopping Centre did 25 years ago.”

Other facilities of the property include community spaces, an aircon bus interchange, an underground retail area that links to Yishun MRT station, a rooftop garden, a public library, and a town plaza that’s the size of 10 basketball courts, Coconuts Singapore reports.

The soft opening of the mall will take place by the fourth quarter of this year with the completion of the South Wing, while Yishun Public Library and the Nee Soon Central Community Club will move into the mall by 2018.
