Events Not To Be Missed: September 2017

Goodbye August, and here comes September!

This month is definitely going to be a really busy month, check out the events we have in store for September!

1.“One Piece” exhibition in Malaysia (26 August – 18 October 2017) 

In conjunction with the 20th anniversary of “One Piece” manga, Malaysia becomes the first country to host a special “One Piece” exhibition. Though the event has already started since last month, it is still not too late for you to go and catch Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates as the exhibition will go on until October.

Venue: Isetan, Kuala Lumpur

2.Star Wars Festival Singapore (1 – 10 September 2017) 

Get ready to experience a ten-day “Star Wars” themed festival in Singapore which will also kick off the worldwide celebration of Star Wars Force Friday II. The event will also lead up to the annual Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) from 9 – 10 September at Marina Bay Sands.

Venue: ION Orchard

3.Arrival in Malaysia (1 – 3 September 2017) 

Famed for their classic hits like “Mamma Mia”, “Dancing Queen”, and “Money, Money, Money” among others, it is time for us to travel to the 70s this September as AC Music Entertainment is bringing over the international hit tribute musical, Arrival from Sweden – The Music of ABBA!

Venue: Plenary Hall, KLCC

4.Ferry Corsten in Singapore (1 September 2017) 

After Malaysia, the trance pioneer will be bringing his brand new sci-fi themed album, “Blueprint” to Singapore.

Venue: Zouk Singapore

5.G-Dragon in Asia (1, 3 and 17 September 2017) 

Big Bang’s leader G-Dragon has added more Asian cities to his large-scale second world tour, “G-Dragon 2017 World Tour: Act III, M.O.T.T.E”, which is said  to be the largest-scale Korean tour in the United States and also the largest tour ever conducted by a Korean solo artiste.

Venue: Smart Araneta Coliseum (PH), Ice Hall (ID), Stadium Merdeka (MY)

6.Pulau Zombie Singapore (2 – 3 September 2017) 

Get ready to live out your wildest zombie apocalypse survival fantasies at Pulau Zombie, and see if you’re tough enough for the horror island adventure.

Venue: St John Island

7.Music Matters Live Singapore (9 – 12 September 2017) 

Returning for its 12th year, Asia’s premier independent music festival, Music Matters Live, in association with Apple Music, has announced its first wave of music line-up which include SonaOne (Malaysia), Sam Rui (Singapore), Tabitha Nauser (Singapore), Fairchild (Australia), Fuzzculture (India), and more.

Venue: CHIJMES

8.Dashboard Confessional in Singapore (9 September 2017) 

Dashboard Confessional who is most known for the song “Vindicated” which featured on the soundtrack of “Spider-Man 2” in 2004, will be coming to Singapore for the first time.

Venue: D'Marquee @ Downtown East

9.Singapore Grand Prix (15 – 17 September July 2017) 

Time to warm-up your engines as the Singapore’s Grand Prix season is just around the corner, and to make things even more interesting, several award-winning international acts have been announced for the concert line-up of the highly-anticipated racing event! Some of them include Ariana Grande, The Chainsmokers, One Republic and more.

Venue: Marina Bay Street Circuit

10.RIUH in Malaysia (16 – 17 September 2017)  

Enjoy a weekend of creative and retail therapy at an all-new creative platform called RIUH, which is set to be a monthly affair.

Venue: APW, Jalan Riong, Bangsar

11.KPOP Sensation Concert Malaysia (16 September 2017) 

Two of the biggest pop stars from South Korea will be coming down to Penang for the “KPOP Sensation Concert” – and they are Kang Gary and Jessica Jung!

Venue: Setia SPICE Arena, Penang

12.Lucy Rose in Asia (16 and 18 September 2017)  

English singer-songwriter Lucy Rose is set to embark on her second world tour which would include Southeast Asian countries like Singapore and the Philippines.

Venue: Bandwagon Live (Philippines), The Projector (Singapore), The Bee (Malaysia), Rec Room (Vietnam), Zen (Thailand)

13.Nam Joo-hyuk in Asia (16 and 23 September 2017) 

South Korean actor and model from YG Entertainment, Nam Joo-hyuk is coming over to Philippines and Thailand for a special fan meeting session.

14.Against the Current in Asia (17, 26, 30 September and 1 October 2017) 

American female-fronted rock band Against the Current is bringing their “In Our Bones World Tour Part II” to Southeast Asia countries including Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines.

Venue: MS Hall Vicky Sianipar (Indonesia), The Rock Pub (Thailand), UP Town Centre (Philippines), Ayala Malls Solenad (Philippines)

15.One Republic in Thailand (21 September 2017) 

Best known for “Counting Stars,” “Secrets,” and “Apologize,” the five-piece outfit One Republic led by frontman Ryan Tedder will play their Bangkok show for the first time to promote their fourth and latest album, “Oh My My”.

Venue: Impact Arena, Bangkok

16.Taeyang in Asia (22 and 30 September 2017) 

Teyang of BIGBANG is set to bring his White Night World Tour to Philippines and Thailand in support of his forthcoming third album of the same name

17.Japan x Malaysia Friendship Concert (23 September 2017) 

To celebrate the long-standing relationship between the two countries, IME Malaysia, Toybox Projects and Ishida Taiseisha Inc are bringing over several pop artistes from Japan for a unique cross culture performances together with Malaysia’s very own artistes. Some of the performers include Itano Tomomi, Juice=Juice, Anna Tsuchiya, Bunkface, Jaclyn Victor, Joe Flizzow and more.

Venue: Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach, Kuala Lumpur.

18.Gentle Bones in Malaysia (24 September 2017)  

One of the current hottest and hippest music act, Gentle Bones, who is often referred to as the Ed Sheeran of Singapore is finally coming over to neighbouring country Malaysia for the first time ever.

Venue: The Bee, Publika, Kuala Lumpur

19.Gugudan in Singapore (27 September 2017)  

South Korean girl group gugudan will be going outside of their home country for the first time to debut their first live show in Singapore!

Venue: The Mastercard Theatres

20.Bestival Bali (30 September and 1 October 2017)  

England’s iconic and annual music festival Bestival is now expanding to Asia in Bali for the first time ever.

Venue: Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park.
