Former female WWE pro-wrestler Chyna – real name, Joan Marie Laurer – was found dead in her home today at Redondo Beach, California.
She was 45 years old.
An official statement was released on her Twitter and Facebook, saying;
“It is with deep sadness to inform you today that we lost a true icon, a real life superhero. Joanie Laurer aka Chyna, the 9th wonder of the world has passed away. She will live forever in the memories of her millions of fans and all of us that loved her.”
According to Dead Spin, Chyna has been on medication for both anxiety and sleep deprivation. However, it is unclear if either of those played any part in her death.
Chyna became a wrestling star in 1995, teaming up with Triple H to become one of the original members of D-Generation X.
