You read it right – the magical world of "Harry Potter" is coming to us muggles in the form of augmented reality mobile game.
Following the success of the hit "Pokémon GO", developer Niantic will next bring to life author J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World through "Harry Potter: Wizards Unite".
"With "Harry Potter: Wizards Unite", players that have been dreaming of becoming real life Wizards will finally get the chance to experience J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World," the company said in a statement.
"Players will learn spells, explore their real world neighbourhoods and cities to discover and fight legendary beasts and team up with others to take down powerful enemies."
Partnering with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and the WB Games San Francisco development team, the company will integrate the augmented reality foundations laid by "Ingress" (their first augmented reality mobile game) and "Pokémon GO", with the world-famous "Harry Potter" franchise.
The mention of fighting legendary beasts, rather than some of Harry Potter's infamous foes such as Voldemort and the Dark Eaters, might also hint at a potential tie-in with the upcoming sequel of "Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them" which rolls out next year.
No release date has been given for "Harry Potter: Wizards Unite" but hold on tight to your wands and stay tuned for updates.
