Malaysian singer-songwriter Namewee has announced Singapore as the second stop for his 4896 World Tour, following his recent show in Taipei last weekend.
This will be Namewee’s first concert in Singapore, which will be held next year on 3 February 2018 at The Star Performing Arts Centre.
In conjunction with his upcoming show in the country, Namewee has recently released a new music video dedicated to the Singaporeans, featuring the most Singaporean person ever – Jack Neo, the director of the famous “Ah Boys to Men” franchise!
The concert tour is to celebrate Namewee’s ten years of singing career where the term “4896” (si pek kao lat) is a Hokkien slang typically used in Malaysia which means “very strong and powerful” – according to Bandwagon Asia – serving as the theme of his tour.
So far, Namewee is most known for his song “Stranger in the North” (漂向北方) featuring Wang Leehom, which has gotten more than 96 million views – a little bit more until it reaches 100 million!
Tickets for Namewee 4896 World Tour in Singapore are sold at SGD88, SGD98, SGD128 and SGD168, and are available through apactix.com.
