Events Not To Be Missed: May 2018

May is upon us and with it comes an array of events. This month sees an exceptional amount of music festivals covering all kinds of genres. From metal to folk, hip-hop to rock, pop to electro; May is sure to have a festival to your liking and we are here to list down some of the events happening across Southeast Asia.

1. Bruno Mars in Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia (1, 6, & 9 May 2018)

Thailand fans sure are lucky to have Bruno Mars performing live for the second time this month. So fans who missed his first show, this is your chance to redeem yourself with the "24K Magic" singer. Also, the Grammy-winning singer will make his way to Singapore and Malaysia too.

2. Brian McKnight in Singapore (1 May 2018)

One, this concert is like a dream come true. Two, he just wants to be with you. Three, it's plain to see that you have to catch Brian McKnight live when he comes down to Singapore.

3. Harry Styles in Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand (1, 3, & 7 May 2018)

After his sold out 2017 shows in Southeast Asia, ex-One Direction member Harry Styles is back to woo tweens from Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

4. Jake Bugg in Thailand (1 May 2018)

Fresh off his "Hearts That Strain" album, Jake Bugg is ending his tour Southeast Asian tour in Bangkok. So don't miss this chance to catch him live.

5. Mayday! Singapore 2018 in Singapore (1 May 2018)

Here's something for you metalheads out there. Mayday! Singapore 2018 is packed with Southeast Asian's best metal bands performing alongside American bands like Attila and SECRETS.

6. MXM in Malaysia (1 May 2018)

Get to know rising K-pop duo, MXM, as they hold a fan meeting exclusively for Malaysian fans.

7. Rhodes in Malaysia and Singapore (1 & 2 May 2018)

Let Rhodes serenade you as he makes his way to Singapore and Malaysia first before continuing on on his Asia Tour this year.

8. 5 Seconds Of Summer in Singapore (2 May 2018)

Australian pop punk band, 5 Seconds Of Summer, is back just in time for summer (as if) to promote their yet-to-be-released album "Youngblood".

9. Crown The Empire in Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia (2, 5, 10, 12, & 13 May 2018)

After rocking out at Taiwan, Crown The Empire is moving on with their "The Retrograde Asia Tour" with special guest from Malaysia, Sekumpulan Orang Gila.

10. KRU in Malaysia (4 - 6 May 2018)

Catch Malaysia's prominent boyband, KRU, as they celebrate their 25th anniversary together before disbanding for good.

11. UnKonscious Beach Festival 2018 in Thailand (4 - 6 May 2018)

Dance your way at Thailand's most happening beaches to electro tunes provided by big players such as Menno de Jong, RAM, and Solarstone.

12. FKJ in Thailand (6 May 2018)

French artist FKJ will perform in Thailand for the first time as part of The Bangkok Arts & Music Month that is happening.

13. Attila in Thailand (8 May 2018)

No one is truly safe when Attila is performing. The American band is making their way to Thailand this time as part of their #NOONEISSAFE Asia Tour.

14. Stereophonics in Singapore (8 May 2018)

Welsh band Stereophonics is coming down to Singapore to promote their chart-topping new album "Scream Above The Sounds" which features songs like "All In One Night" and "Caught By The Wind".

15. Stellar Fest in Indonesia (9 - 13 May 2018)

Get ready to rock out for a full week with a festival that features cool local clothing brands, delicious food, and of course, musical performances. This year, Mew and MxPx is set to headline.

16. Ja Rule in Philippines and Singapore (10 & 12 May 2018)

Ja Rule returns to Southeast Asian borders for an exclusive showcase in Philippines and Singapore. Make sure you are always on time to catch the American rapper in action.

17. Borneo Jazz Festival 2018 in Malaysia (11 - 13 May 2018)

Jazz up your weekend at Borneo Jazz Festival 2018 featuring some of jazz geniuses like Zainal Abidin and Dasha Logan.

18. Wired Music Week in Malaysia (11 - 13 May 2018)

If jazz isn't your thing, then party through the weekend to some of Malaysia's hottest DJs in the scene and sign up for some masterclasses too.

19. Gen Neo in Singapore (11 May 2018)

Singapore's own Gen Neo is coming back to his hometown after busy writing songs for big K-pop groups like Super Junior, GOT7, and f(x).

20. Margaret Cho in Malaysia (11 May 2018)

American stand-up comedian  Margaret Cho is going to make Malaysians laugh with her jokes on her Asian leg of her "Fresh Off The Bloat" tour.

21. An Honest Mistake in Malaysia (12 May 2018)

Malaysian pop punkers An Honest Mistake are throwing a party for their new EP called "The Corporate EP" which is available on the day itself.

22. HYDE in Malaysia (12 May 2018)

One of the most influential vocalists from Japan, HYDE, is coming to Kuala Lumpur for a solo performance for his Acoustic Concert Tour 2018 黒ミサ Asia for the very first time.

23. Volcano Rock Festival in Indonesia (12 May 2018)

Legendary rock band Europe is set to perform at Volcano Rock Festival with God Bless opening the event.

24. Iron & Wine in Singapore and Thailand (14 & 15 May 2018)

Iron & Wine is coming to Singapore for the first time then will head to Thailand for the Bangkok Arts & Music Month.

25. Khruangbin in Thailand (18 May 2018)

The final day of the Bangkok Arts & Music Month sees Khruangbin closing the event off.
