Making their debut performance in Malaysia last weekend was K-Pop group KARD. The co-ed group, consisting of B.M, J.seph, Somin and Jiwoo, was among the many performers at the “Lazada 11.11 Super Show” concert held on Saturday evening.

Prior to the concert, the quartet first met with the media and their Hidden KARD (fanclub name) at a press conference on Saturday morning at InterContinental Kuala Lumpur.

The four members were all smiles as they relayed that they were touched by the warm welcome they received from their Malaysian fans, some of whom even greeted them at the airport upon arrival.

Since their first performance in the country is at an event counting down the big 11.11 sale on an online shopping platform, naturally the question of online shopping came up. The boys both gestured to the girls upon hearing the question and Somin obligingly replied that nowadays she especially loves shopping for hats online. J.seph eventually chimed in but only to say that he preferred ‘eye shopping’ (that’s the Korean way of saying window shopping) rather than actual shopping.

Korean-American B.M promised that there’ll be “a lot of turning up” for their show later that evening and the idol group definitely made good of that promise.

The Super Show kicked off the same evening at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, with a red carpet event. KARD worked the red carpet in class, with the boys donning sharp black suits and the girls dazzling in shimmery dresses.

Before they got to perform, first – like their fans – they enjoyed performances from local acts such as Aman Ra, SonaOne and Altimet, who heat up the stage with their hip hop tracks; as well as Amy Mastura, Aiman Tino, Naim Daniel, Haqiem Rusli, and Sarah Suhairi – the latter wowed the crowd with her cover of Korean girl group BLACKPINK’s “Ddu-du Ddu-du”.

There were breaks in between the singing performances for sketches and games, which the likes of Maya Karin, Ropie Cecupak, Ain Edruce and more participated in.

There was also a fashion show that had Hazama and Khai Bahar singing “Amaran Mama” and “Arjuna Mencari Cinta” as the accompaniment tracks while the models strutted around them on stage.

KARD was not the only international star at the event as Indonesian heartthrob Cakra Khan also took the stage to belt out his hits.

After Ziana Zain and Ella showed off their singing prowess, it was time for KARD to perform for their Malaysian fans for the first time. Despite having to wait for about two hours before finally taking the stage as the finale act, KARD had no problem dealing out their best as their fans kept cheering loudly for them.

This may be KARD’s first performance in Malaysia but judging from the screams that filled up the stadium at the show, this might not be their last.
