In conjunction with their 20th anniversary, Japanese pop/folk duo from Yokohama, YUZU(ゆず) has announced their inaugural Asia tour, “YUZU ASIA TOUR 2016 Summer NATSUIRO!!”, which is set to kick off in Singapore this coming July!

Made up of Yūjin Kitagawa and Kōji Iwasawa, the tour will begin at Singapore’s *SCAPE, The Ground Theatre on 9 July 2016, followed by shows in Hong Kong, Taipei, Osaka and Tokyo.

“We want to play in Asia!” exclaimed YUZU in a statement by Sistic. “This dream will finally be realized this year, on our 20th anniversary. The name of the tour, NATSUIRO, is our debut song and one that captures what we are about.”

“We are hoping that these shows will be an introduction to all our fans seeing us for the first time. We are taking ourselves back to the beginning, viewing this as a new starting line in hopes that we will be able to deliver a worthy performance to all of you in Asia,” they continued.

The band debuted in 1997 and over the course of their career, thirty-eight out of their forty-three singles have made it to the top five spots on the Oricon charts for sales, J Network reports.

Among many of their greatest hits, their 2004 song “Eiko no Kakehashi” was chosen as the theme song for NHK’s Athens Olympics broadcast, and became a huge hit across the country.

In recent year, some of the band’s music was used as theme songs for popular Japanese anime such as “Hunter x Hunter”, “Doraemon” and “Crayon Shin-chan”

YUZU released their latest album “TOWA” in January 2016.

Tickets for the concert start from SGD118 onwards and can be purchased via sistic.com.sg.
