The seating plan for the musical play.
Adapted from the 1983 Taiwanese movie “Papa Can You Hear Me Sing?”, the real tear-jerker tells of a speech-impaired veteran soldier, now struggling to make ends meet as a scrap collector, whose adopted daughter A-Mei shuns him and her friends after finding success in showbiz.

Della Ding, Berson Wang, Nylon Chen and Yeh Wen-Hao are among the 17-member cast that will perform the 150-minute play, directed by Chris Tseng, with Andrew Chu serving as music director and Chen Le-Rong as screenwriter.

The stage is designed with four thematic scenes with dazzling backdrops.
Songs that will be performed in the musical include “Any Empty Wine Bottles for Sale,” “The Same Moonlight,” “Come with Me, Please,” and “Whether or Not”. Della Ding’s popular songs “I Love Him,” “Run Away from Home,” and “Qin Ren” are also part of the setlist as well as original compositions written by Andrew Chu, “Fight” and “Diva and Doll”.

“An Accident of Love” kicked off at the Taichung Theater in July last year. It has so far toured major cities in both Asia and North America, such as Kaohsiung, Xiamen, Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan, Beijing, Toronto and Vancouver.
