Another video streaming service has entered the game and it is none other than iwonder, which recently launched in Malaysia and other countries in Southeast Asia.

iwonder launched its service in Malaysia with the critically acclaimed 1MDB exposé movie, “The Kleptocrats”.

It features exclusive footage of Jho Low meeting Najib in New York, Low partying with stars Leonardo Dicaprio, Miranda Kerr and Paris Hilton, and the over-the-top parties Riza Aziz threw (along with Red Granite Pictures, the production company behind “Wolf of Wall Street”) where Kanye West, Pharrell Williams and Jamie Foxx performed.

Founded by former iflix senior management, the streaming service offers over 1,000 factual entertainment content from across the globe.

Unlike other streaming services currently available in the market, iwonder focuses solely on keeping its viewers up-to-date with global current affairs by offering only award-winning and acclaimed documentaries, with genres comprising current affairs, culture, social issues, politics, music, art, tech, sports, climate change, history and more.

News stories are integrated into the iwonder.com home page, where film recommendations that explore similar themes and provide deeper context into each topic are also provided.

New viewers can watch “The Kleptocrats” and the other 1000+ documentary movies available by signing up for the 1-month free trial on iwonder.com or by downloading the iOS or Android mobile or tablet apps, for watching on the move or on big screens via Chromecast or Airplay.

Prior to entering the rest of the Southeast Asian market, including Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos, iwonder was first launched in Singapore as well as New Zealand and Australia earlier this year.

Currently, other streaming service providers that are also available in Malaysia are Netflix, iflix, Viu, tonton, dimsum, and Unifi TV (previously known as HyppTV).

Upcoming ones include Apple's video subscription service, Apple TV+, which will be launched this 1 November, and Disney’s video on-demand service, Disney+, though this has no launch date set at the moment.
