Next month, fans in Malaysia will finally get to see Joey Yung performing live in Genting once again.

However, for a lucky few, they got to meet the Hong Kong star in person way ahead of that – at the special Meet and Greet event that was held last Friday at White Ballroom PJ.

Speaking to the fans and media at the press conference held at the event, the 39-year-old assured that her Genting concert will move forward as planned, despite almost all other events in Malaysia have now been cancelled or postponed due to the widening spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

To make it more memorable, Joey accepted the suggestion to sing a Malay song at the upcoming concert.

For the first time, Joey Yung will be singing a Malay song at her concert.
Fans can expect to hear “Rasa Sayang” (unless she manages to learn something more complicated in the short time between now and the concert day) on her setlist on that day.

That will be a first for Joey to sing a song in Malaysia’s national language, even though she has performed in Genting for a total of sixth time now, with her upcoming one being her seventh show at the mountaintop resort.

When asked if she would be wearing sexy costumes at the concert, Joey laughingly replied that she will wear what’s beautiful. Her fans were asked if they thought her outfits would be too sexy for Malaysia and they replied with a resounding “No!”

The concert is part of her “Joey Yung The Tour 2020 – Love” world tour, held in celebration of her 21st anniversary in showbiz, with Malaysia being the only Asian stop for now. It will kick off in Europe early next month, in cities that include Paris, The Hague and London.
