Jimmy Eat World fans in Singapore and Manila who have been looking forward to catching the American band live in concert unfortunately received bad news a couple of days back.
While fans were evidently disappointed, most understood that this was a necessary precaution in curbing the virus’ widening spread.
A message from the band was posted on organiser Skesh Entertainment’s social media last weekend, announcing the concerts’ cancellation.
“In order to support the efforts of safeguarding the health of each and every one of you, THE FANS, as well as our band and crew, we are saddened to announce the cancellation of our upcoming shows in Singapore and Manila. Please refer to your point of purchase for refund information. We will be back soon!” the message read.
The band was originally scheduled to perform at their two aforementioned Southeast Asian stops next week. They were supposed to stop by Manila first on 12 March before heading down to Singapore for their 14 March show.

Aside from Jimmy Eat World’s “Surviving: The Asia Tour 2020”, Skesh Entertainment also announced that Set It Off’s “The Midnight Asia Tour 2020” has also been cancelled.
The American rockers were originally scheduled to support Jimmy Eat World at the latter’s Manila and Singapore shows, before heading to Malaysia, Thailand and Taiwan for their own headlining concerts.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances and for everyone's safety, our Asia headlining shows & our shows with Jimmy Eat World will not be taking place this March. Were so sorry and will be doing our best to come back as soon as possible. Refunds will be made at the point of purchase,” Set It Off tweeted recently.
At the moment, both bands will still go ahead with their respective tours in Australia and Europe.
