To celebrate the upcoming Mother's Day, actor-director Jack Neo will be releasing his movie "Long Long Time Ago" for free streaming this Sunday.
The movie will be made available on his own Facebook as well as AsiaOne's Facebook on 10 May at 9pm.
Spanning the early years of Singapore from 1965 to early 1970s, the movie – which was made to commemorate Singapore's 50th birthday – follows a single mother named Zhao Di (Aileen Tan) and her family as they journey through the years from Kampong to HDB, which parallels Singapore's early growth as a nation.
It topped the Singapore box office during its Chinese New Year 2016 release, collecting SGD4.2 million in total. A sequel, "Long Long Time Ago 2", was released later the same year while a third instalment is currently in post-production.
There's no date set yet for "Long Long Time Ago 3" but it is expected to be released later this year.
Apart from the special online screening, Jack Neo will also be holding a Facebook Live talk show this Saturday, 9 May, at 9pm.
Joining him are his long-time collaborators, comedians Mark Lee and Henry Thia, and the trio will be discussing the upcoming third instalment of the "Money No Enough" comedy franchise.
"Money No Enough 3" will be a sequel to 2008's "Money No Enough 2" and 1998's "Money No Enough". The previous movies prove to be box office successes, with the second movie collecting SGD4.6 million, while the first movie held the record as the highest grossing local movie for 15 years with its SG5.9 million box office collection.
The Facebook Live talk show will be available on Jack Neo's, Mark Lee's and AsiaOne's Facebook pages.
