While fans worldwide are anticipating the release of BTS’ upcoming “Break The Silence: The Movie”, fans in their home country South Korea will have to wait a bit more for it since the movie’s theatrical release there has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As scheduled by entertainment agency and record label Big Hit Entertainment, the documentary film was originally scheduled to be released globally this 10 September. However, its release in Korea has now been postponed to a yet-to-be-announced date.

According to a report on All Kpop, Big Hit has released an official statement regarding the postponement.

“Currently, the spread of COVID-19 mass infection in the Seoul metropolitan area has led to a temporary delay in the release date of 'Break the Silence: The Movie', which was originally scheduled to be released on September 10.

“Announcements will be made in September according to the domestic release schedule after the massive outbreak of the COVID-19 infection in South Korea has subsided,” it stated.

However, to date, there is still no announcement on whether the movie will also be delayed in other countries or it will still open in overseas cinemas as scheduled.

In certain territories, such as Malaysia and Cambodia, the previous movie "Bring the Soul: The Movie" was also re-screened in cinemas late last month ahead of the upcoming movie’s release.

The documentary, which follows BTS’ "Love Yourself: Speak Yourself" world tour that took place from May to October 2019, includes behind-the-scenes footage and exclusive interview clips with the seven members.

In related news, BTS might be allowed to postpone their military service enrolment, which is mandatory for all South Korean men, since the Korean government is currently revising the military service act.

This is following BTS’ continues success on the international stage. Their first fully English song “Dynamite” recently topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
