Following the confirmation of "House of the Dragon", it was revealed that HBO is now putting into development a series adaptation of another one of George R.R. Martin's fantasy novellas, "Tales of Dunk & Egg".

This would be good news for fans of the book series, who have been clamouring for a "Dunk and Egg" series since HBO announced plans to develop spinoffs of its biggest series, "Game of Thrones" back in 2017.

Set in Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" world in which the previously hit HBO series was based on, "Tales of Dunk & Egg" follows the adventure of hedge knight Duncan the Tall (Dunk) and his squire Egg (who would grow up to be King Aegon V Targaryen) 90 years before the events of "A Song of Ice and Fire".

Tales of Dunk and Egg revolves around the friendship between Duncan the Tall and his squire and future king Aegon V Targaryen

However, the project is still in early development with no writer attached yet. HBO has declined to comment.

Martin has published three novellas of the said adventure since 1998, which were then compiled and published in 2015 as a complete title, "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms".

For the meantime, HBO is currently busy preparing for "House of the Dragon". The series, slated for a 2022 premiere, is set about 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones and will revolve around the Targaryen Dynasty. Matt Smith and Emma D'Arcy to star.
