Fans of the love-hate bromance between Tim Taylor and his assistant Al Borland from "Home Improvement" would be happy to know that its stars Tim Allen and Richard Karn have been reunited in an upcoming History Channel reality show.
The two actors, who worked together in "Tool Time" - the show within the show from the hit aforementioned ‘90s sitcom are co-hosting the competition series, "Assembly Required", which recently released its official promotional trailer.
In the trailer, Allen could be heard doing his iconic growling laugh, "Ho, ho, ho" and enthusing that he still got it, with Karn giving a dry response of, "You got something".
The show will consist of ten hour-long episodes and will also feature woodworking DIY YouTube star April Wilkerson serving as the show's "resident expert." Each episode will see three makers build a variety of big projects, with Allen and Karn checking in via virtual calls to see their progress. The winner of each episode will get USD 5,000 in cash and also bragging rights.
In a previous interview, Allen and Karn expressed their delight at working together after 20 years, with the former saying, "I loved those days doing “Tool Time”. We both share a great appreciation of people who can solve a problem not by talking about it, but by 'doing' it with creativity and amazing building skills. Plus it gives me more time to make fun of his fake beard."
