Dustin Diamond, known best for his role as Screech in the '90s high school sitcom, "Saved by The Bell", has recently passed away.

The news was confirmed by his rep Roger Paul, who stated that Diamond did not suffer prior to his passing, following news that he had been diagnosed last month with stage 4 small cell carcinoma, or lung cancer.

"He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful,” said Roger.

Diamond's career in Hollywood did not go as well as his fellow alumni like Mark Paul Gosselaar, Mario Lopez and Tiffani Thiessen. After playing the role of Screech in the Disney Channel show, "Good Morning Miss Bliss" in 1988, he went on to portray the same character in NBC's "Saved by The Bell" and continued on until 2000 in several other spin-offs of the show.

After the show ended, he starred in several reality shows including "Celebrity Fit Club", as well as "Celebrity Boxing 2", as well as several other guest appearances in movies like "Big Fat Liar" and "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star".

"Saved by The Bell" alumna Tiffany Thiessen also took to social media to express sadness over the news, writing online "I am deeply saddened by the news of my old co-star [Dustin Diamond's] passing. Life is extremely fragile and it’s something we should never take for granted. God speed Dustin."

Mario Lopez, who played AC Slater in the show, posted photos of him with Diamond and expressed, "Dustin, you will be missed my man. The fragility of this life is something never to be taken for granted. Prayers for your family will continue on..."

He was 44.
