Gina Carano will not be returning to "The Mandalorian" anymore, after Lucasfilm and her agency UTA, decided to let her go following her latest social media rant.

The former mixed martial artist, who played the role of former Rebel Alliance soldier Cara Dune in the said hit Disney Plus series, recently sparked the anger of many after she implied on Instagram that being a Republican today is like being Jewish during the Holocaust.

The backlash even triggered the hashtag #FireGinaCarano, despite her later removing the offensive post from her social media account.

Lucasfilm had originally wanted to create a spin-off based on Carano's character in "The Mandalorian"

According to a statement from Lucasfilm, "Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable."

This is not the first time that the studio was unhappy with the actress, after she tweeted several contentious political opinions, including mocking people wearing masks amid the pandemic, and later suggested that voter fraud was involved in the 2020 US Presidential Election.

Sources claimed that the latest post was the last straw for the studio.

Prior to this, Lucasfilm had planned to create a spin-off show centred around Carano's character, but decided to cancel it following her tweets in November.
