There were many things - shocking things - that were revealed by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in their recent interview with Oprah Winfrey, but none could rival Markle's admission that there were concerns about her child's skin colour by several people in the royal household.

Markle, who sat down with the famed television talk show host recently, stated that there were many conversations that happened while she was pregnant with son Archie back in 2019, including the fact that he won't be given security, a title, and also concerns over the colour of his skin - the last part that turned Oprah speechless.

"What?" a frowning Oprah asked, adding, "And you won't tell me who had the conversation?"

"I think it would be very damaging to them," she said.

"That conversation I'm never going to share. But at the time it was awkward, I was a bit shocked," said Harry, adding that he would never share it with the public.

Nonetheless, in an interview with "CBS This Morning" later on, Oprah shared a few details on the matter, saying that Harry has stated that neither the Queen nor Prince Phillip were the ones involved in the conversation about his son's skin colour.

"Harry wanted to ensure that "I knew and if I had an opportunity to share that it was not his grandma [the Queen] nor his grandfather [Prince Philip] that were a part of those conversations," said Winfrey.

In the same interview, Markle admitted that she had contemplated suicide following her marriage to Prince Harry, saying that the media scrutiny from the British press had really affected her mental health.

"I just didn't want to be alive anymore. That was a clear and real and frightening and constant thought," she said, adding that she was even advised against seeking help for it by the senior member of the royal institution as it would reflect badly on the royal family.

It is noted that British tabloids had been very biased in their treatments towards the biracial Markle compared to Prince William's wife and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, and seemed to be aiming to turn public opinion against the former "Suits" actress from the get go.
