Legendary German rock band Scorpions will be performing in Singapore for a one-night show as part of their 50th Anniversary World Tour, this coming October.
Formed in 1965, Scorpions is one of the long-running rock bands consisting of longtime members Klaus Meine (vocals), Rudolf Schenker (guitar) and Matthias Jabs (guitar), alongside James Kottak (drums) and Paweł Mąciwoda (bass).
The band is considered Europe’s most successful rock band as they have released 18 studio albums, 27 compilation albums and 74 singles, and six of those singles have reached number one on the charts in different countries.
The band also receives countless of silver, gold and platinum status for their albums, singles, compilations and video releases in different countries.
Their best-selling album to date is “Crazy World” (1990) which includes one of the best-selling singles of all time, “Wind of Change”.
The song holds the record for the best-selling single by a German artist and peaked at number one in seven other countries including Austria, France, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden and Switzerland.
Other famous songs include “Rock You Like a Hurricane”, “No One Like You”, “Send Me an Angel” and “Still Loving You”.
