Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS) – Malaysia

Poised as Asia’s first theme park which focuses on animation, Movie Animation Park Studios is a joint-venture between PCB Development Sdn Bhd and RSG MAPS Sdn Bhd. The theme park features over 40 attractions in 6 thematic zones, and some of the animation movie-themed rides include “Mr Peabody & Sherman”, “Mega-mind”, “The Croods”, “Casper The Friendly Ghost”, "BoBoiBoy" and “The Smurfs”.
When: December 2016

20th Century Fox World – Malaysia

This highly-anticipated theme park will be the first 20th Century Fox theme park in the world! The theme park would be replacing the Genting Outdoor Theme Park and will be competing against nearby movie inspired theme parks like Universal Studios Singapore, Hong Kong Disneyland and the
newly opened Shanghai Disneyland. Expected rides of the theme park include “Ice Age”, “Rio”, “Alien vs. Predator”, “Planet of the Apes” and “Night at the Museum”.
When: Late 2016 or Early 2017

Atlantis – Sanya, China

Following the success of Atlantis Bahamas and Dubai, the Greek-themed water theme resort and park is being developed by Fosun International and Kerzner International Holdings. The main attraction is the Aquaventure, a large water park filled with maze-like waterslides, ancient temples, and also exotic marine exhibits.
When: Tentatively 2017

20th Century Fox World – South Korea

As we await the opening of 20th Century Fox’s first theme park in Malaysia, a second and third Fox World parks are reportedly already in the works. The Korean park will be operated by Australian theme park company Village Roadshow Ltd, while the other one in Dubai will be built by Al Ahli Holding Group.
When: Tentatively 2018 for both

Universal Studios – Bejing, China & South Korea

Beijing will be Universal Studios' third theme park in Asia after Singapore and Osaka, and also the fifth in the world. It was also reported that Universal Studios in South Korea is currently in development. The project in Korea was previously ran by Lotte and was then cancelled, but now the GyeongGi province government has announced that the project has been revived once again.
When: 2019 (Beijing), 2020 (Korea)
Where: Tongzhou District (Beijing), Hwaseong (Korea)
Ubisoft Theme Park – Malaysia

The first of its kind park will be an indoor complex featuring rides, shows and other attractions related to Ubisoft’s games and characters like “Assassin's Creed”, “Far Cry”, “Ghost Recon”, “Just Dance”, “Rainbow Six”, “Prince of Persia” and more. The park will be run by Malaysian theme park developer RSG.
