Team Fnatic which made up of four Malaysians and a Filipino, made fourth place at the Dota 2 The International tournament, winning USD1.4 million (RM5.6mllion) over the weekend.
The team members, aged between 20 – 25, consist of four Malaysians Chai Yee Fung (Mushi), Yeik Zheng Nai (MidOne), Khoo Chong Xin (Ohaiyo) and Adam Erwann Shah (343), and also Djardel Jicko Mampusti (DJ) from the Philippines.
They secured their top four spot after defeating South Korean team MVP Phoenix in Round 4, but were beaten by North America's Digital Chaos in the semi-finals.
Even with the loss, the team still managed to walk away with seven percent of the prize pool of USD20,727,779 (RM83,315,307), which is the biggest prize pool in history od eSports.
