Not too long ago, low-cost airline AirAsia had offered free flights for life to Asean’s Olympic gold medallists, now they are offering the same treatment to the Asean Paralympians who won medals at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

The airline’s CEO Tony Fernandes announced the exciting news on his social media with an image featuring all the medal winners from Asean nations including Malaysia’s very own gold medallists Abdul Latif Romly, Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli and Mohamad Ridzuan Mohamad Puzi.

“Thought the summer Olympics was amazing, but the Paralympics has showed me what determination is all about,” said Tony Fernandes in a Facebook post.

“Once again, this time led by Malaysia, Asean is doing something special. Airasia will be giving Free flights for life for all Gold medal winners, 5 years for silver and 3 years for bronze.”

“Airasia was all about democracy. Thanks guys and girls for giving all of us the spirit to never give up despite all the obstacles in front of us,” he continued.

Apart from the three Malaysian gold medallists, Thai wheelchair racers Pongsakorn Paeyo and Prawat Wahoram are also among the other Asean Paralympic gold medallists who will be awarded free flights for life by AirAsia.
