Malaysian filmmaker Namewee has been nominated for three categories in the prestigious International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema Berlin 2016.
Through his 2016 short film, “The Game of Las Vegas”, the 33-year-old talent is nominated for Best Original Screenplay of a Foreign Language Film, Best Short Foreign Language Film, and Best Lead Actor in a Foreign Language Film.
Although previously he has been nominated for all sort of awards, the actor admitted that this is his first nomination for Best Actor and he is quite surprised.
“Suddenly I received this wonderful news. Thank you Germans for liking my work. Too bad this short film is banned in Malaysia,” the actor posted on his Facebook.
The film had also been nominated for three categories in Madrid International Film Festival back in May, and five categories in AIM Chinese 2016.
Starring and directed by Namewee, “The Game of Las Vegas” is a story of a family's late-night strolls across the city of Kuala Lumpur, in search for the limelight of 'Las Vegas'.
