Poet, celebrated singer and songwriter, Leonard Cohen, had peacefully passed away today in his home at 82 years of age.
The devastating news was posted via his official Facebook account earlier today:-
“It is with profound sorrow, we report that legendary poet, songwriter and artist, Leonard Cohen has passed away. We have lost one of music’s most revered and prolific visionaries.A memorial will take place in Los Angeles at a later date. The family requests privacy during their time of grief.”
According to Rolling Stone, Cohen’s son wrote in a statement that "my father passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles with the knowledge that he had completed what he felt was one of his greatest records.”
"He was writing up until his last moments with his unique brand of humor,” added Cohen’s son, Adam.
The talented artist has produced some of the best contemporary music with his unique lyric writing ability that combines spirituality and sexuality.

His timeless classics such as “Suzanne”, “Bird on a Wire,” “Everybody Knows”, and “I’m Your Man” will forever be etched in our hearts.
Even the ones who do not know Cohen would know his hit song “Hallelujah”, and such was the magnitude of Cohen’s ability that took the music world by storm.
Leonard Cohen’s fans and the music world will mourn the loss together with his family.
But maybe a fitting tribute to the passing of such an exceptional artist would rather be to celebrate his life than to mourn his passing.
