Alicia Keys will be leading the largest New Year countdown concert in Singapore, Rock ON! 2017 which will be held at the world’s largest floating stage at Marina Bay Sands.
The multi-platinum selling artist will also be joined by other well-known performers such as Rainie Yang, Taiwan’s leading female singer and local favourite Joi Chua among others.
This was made official after concert promoters, IMC Live Group posted on their Facebook page today:-
“IMC Live is proud to announce Rock On! 2017, the most anticipated and largest New Year’s Eve countdown concert in Singapore this year at the world’s largest floating stage with top acts: Alicia Keys, Rainie Yang, Kenji Wu ,Shin, Eric Chou, Joi Chua, Chrïz Tong, Shirlyn and The UnXpected, Gilded Edge, Ferlyn G”
Promoters also added that another international act will be announced soon and that there will be an 8 minute long fireworks display to welcome the New Year.
Speaking to Channel News Asia, the organisers stated that, the Hollywood singer will be playing for “40 minutes with an exclusive playlist that interacts with the cultural climate of the world today”.
Known for her monstrous chartbusters, it will be interesting to see how the 15 time Grammy Award winner lines up her songs to entertain and to educate the crowd at the same time.
