World-wide rock music phenomenon,U2 is believed to be in talks with Singapore’s Sports Hub for a possible concert in Singapore next year.
This was according to The Straits Times, who reported in their exclusive interview with Sports Hub CEO Manu Sawhney that Coldplay and U2 and some other bands are in talks with Sports Hub for a possible concert in 2017.
Furthermore, according to The Irish Times, the band does have plans to perform in Asia next year.
Assembling all pieces of information together, it is safe to say that U2 will most probably appear in Singapore next year.
And if all goes well, this will mark U2’s first ever appearance in Singapore after over 40 years in the rock music industry.
U2 is an Irish band that started in early 1970’s with band members Bono (lead vocals and guitar), the Edge (guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar), and Larry Mullen Jr. (drums and percussion).
Their chart-topping hits would include, “I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For”, “With or Without You”, “Bad’ and one of their most known songs “Beautiful Day”.
With Legendary artist and rock bands such as Guns n Roses, Journey and more commercially well-known Coldplay and Alicia Key’s confirming their concerts in Singapore, The 2017 Singapore music concert scene will certainly be one to watch.
