Malaysia’s top comedian Harith Iskander is just a step away from becoming the Funniest Person in the World as he has managed to get himself into the final rounds!
The 50-year-old stand-up comedian received the highest score at the semi-finals, defeating 15 other comedians and made it to the grand finale, New Straits Times reports.
“It’s been an amazing journey thus far and I thank my fans and loved ones for supporting me all the way. I arrived in Helsinki for the semis last Friday (Dec 2) and had a chance to tour this beautiful European city,” said the comedian.
Organised by Laugh Factory, Harith will be facing comedians Alex Calleja (Philippines), Katerina Vrana (Greece), David Kilimnick (Israel) and Mino Van Nassau (India) in the finals which will be decided by online voting.
The final round of Funniest Person in the World will be held at Levi Lapland tomorrow on 8 December 2016, 8pm (1am local time).
The winner of the competition will receive the grand prize of USD100,000 (RM444,845), while those in second and third place will receive USD10,000 (RM44,484) and USD5,000 (RM22,242) respectively.
