Winners, highlights and red carpet at Grammys 2017

As many would have guessed, Adele is the big winner of of the 2017 Grammy Awards, taking home the three main awards; Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year at the 59th annual Grammy Awards

Adele however, felt that the Album of the Year award should have been given to Beyoncé instead of her.

"I can't possibly accept this award," said the 28-year-old singer during her speech acceptance award.

"I'm very humbled, and I'm very grateful and gracious, but my artist of my life is Beyoncé, and this album for me, the Lemonade album, was just so monumental. Beyoncé, it was so monumental, and so well-thought out and so beautiful and soul-bearing," Adele continued.

"We all got to see another side to you that you don't always let us see and we appreciate that and all us artists here adore you. You are our light and the way that you make me and my friends feel, the way you make my black friends feel is empowering and you make them stand up for themselves. And I love you. I always have, and I always will."

Apart from that, the "Hello" singer also won every award she was nominated for tonight including Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album.

Meanwhile, newcomer Chance the Rapper won his first two Grammy awards for Best New Artist and Best Rap Performance out of seven nominations.

Hosted by James Corden, the prestigious ceremony had featured outstanding performances from some of the biggest names in the mainstream music industry.

From Adele's breath-taking performance of her chart-topping hit “Hello”, to the amazing duet between Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood on the song “The Fighter”, and let’s not forget Ed Sheeran’s striking solo rendition of his latest hit "Shape of You", and also Bruno Mars flirtatious performance on “That’s What I Like”.

However, despite all the performances, it was Queen Bey who blew the audience away with her nine-minute performance on “Love Drought” and “Sandcastles” while heavily pregnant with two twins!
