Melissa McCarthy just confirmed that she will be returning to Netflix’s upcoming “Gilmore Girls” revival, reprising her role as Sookie St. James.
After months of speculation on whether or not will she back for the show, Melissa McCarthy finally announced on the Ellen DeGeneres show that she is in fact “gonna go back and do it!”
“There has been something that I have been asked about so, so many times and it hasn’t worked out”, McCarthy announced to the audience on Ellen.
“They’re making four new movies of the “Gilmore Girls” which is a show which was near and dear to my heart for four years and we could not get those schedules to work,” she continued.
“There was a whole thing, and then I was going to be out of the country, and literally about an hour and a half ago, we figured out that I’m going to go back and do it, and I am so excited!”
“They’re gonna be amazing,” she exclaimed.
With McCarthy confirmation, the cast of the “Gilmore Girls” are now complete!
However, actor Edward Herrmann who played Richard Gilmore, the father of Lorelai and grandfather to Rory – had passed away in 2014, but he will be honoured in the revival show nonetheless.
The show will be a four-part 90-minute limited series, and Netflix has already released the first-look photos of the highly anticipated reboot to Entertainment Weekly.
