Former Spice Girl member Victoria Beckham has been awarded the prestigious OBE (Order of the British Empire) honour by the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William at Buckingham Palace.
The honour is given to recognise her 17-year career in the fashion industry as well as her many philanthropy ventures.
After the Spice Girls split, the Posh Spice had focused on her fashion business and went on to become an internationally recognised style icon and fashion designer.
Wearing a sophisticated navy blue ankle-length long-sleeve dress from her own collection, the 43-year-old mother of four was accompanied to the palace by her parents and husband, David Beckham, who was bestowed with the same title 13 years ago.
On being given the title, Victoria said: “It was an absolute pleasure to be at Buckingham Palace today. I'm proud to be British, honoured and humbled to receive my OBE from the Duke of Cambridge. If you dream big and work hard you can accomplish great things.”
“I'm so happy to share this very special occasion with my parents and husband; without their love and support, none of this would be possible,” she said as quoted by BBC.
Her four children – sons Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, and Cruz, 12, along with daughter Harper, 5 – were not present for the ceremony.
