Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and AirAsia are both lending a helping hand to the stranded passengers of Rayani Air by offering them discounted fares.

Many passengers had their flight tickets cancelled after the sudden suspension of Malaysia’s first Sharia Law-Compliant airline, thus MAS and AirAsia decided to step in and offer to accommodate the stranded passengers at discounted rates.

Available from today until 30 April 2016 for immediate travel until 31 July 2016, passengers with Rayani Air tickets or email proof of their Rayani Air travel booking, would be able to rebook their cancelled flights via MAS with special fares.

“We are offering affected passengers special fares to connect them to their intended destinations. We hope this offer will help alleviate the passengers' travel woes,” MAS chief commercial officer Paul Simmons said to The Star.

Meanwhile, AirAsia is offering a 50 percent discount to Rayani Air passengers with confirmed flight bookings, who are travelling to and from Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Kota Baru, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu between now and 27 April 2016.

“We empathise with all the affected Rayani Air passengers and we hope that this 50% discount will help them to make new travel arrangements,” said AirAsia Berhad’s commercial director, Spencer Lee.
