EDM icon Don Diablo is officially withdrawing himself from all future Ultra Music Festival appearances after facing some issues at Ultra Singapore over the weekend.
The DJ who was one of the most anticipated performers at Ultra Singapore had his set cut short due to his late appearance following a delayed flight from Beijing.
Diablo posted a video on his Facebook page explaining everything that happened during his visit to Singapore.
According to his explanation, the 37-year-old DJ arrived late to his set for Ultra Singapore and the management of Ultra Music Festival was not happy.
After landing in Singapore, the DJ and his crew received a series of text messages from the Ultra team saying that they “weren’t really welcome anymore” and they “weren’t getting paid for the show”.
Diablo said that he felt “massively disrespected”, and hinted that this was not the first conflict he has had or witnessed with the managers of Ultra, adding that several artistes have had similar issues with the massive festival.
“Everybody’s just afraid to speak out because everybody wants to perform at Ultra because it’s a fantastic festival, and we want to be there for you guys,” he said in the video.
“We have decided as a team that we can no longer perform at any of the Ultras in the near future, and that includes the ones that have been announced,” Diablo continued.
