Former “Glee” star Charice has officially introduced her new male name to the world – Jake Zyrus.
The Filipino singer announced her new identity on both Twitter and Instagram as she scraped her old social media accounts and changed it to Jake Zyrus.
Last Sunday, the singer posted a photo of the words “Thank you” with the caption “From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the love and respect. I love you back and I'm sending peace to everyone.”
Yesterday, she also tweeted, “My first tweet as Jake. Overwhelmed. Saw all your love comments and I'm so happy. Finally. I love you, everyone and see you soon.”

Charice, now known as Jake, became a global star after an impressive international debut a decade ago on South Korea’s “Star King”.
She was later discovered by Ellen and was invited to her show. Since then, the 25-year-old singer went on to appear and perform on various talk shows and even got a starring role in the musical series, “Glee”.
In 2013, the singer came out as a lesbian and her appearance began to slowly change; from her feminine long hair to a more edgy short cropped hair, and from her girly attire to a boyish look.
Also, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Jake admitted that she was attracted to girls since her early childhood and that her soul is basically male.
However, she wouldn't physically become a man through gender transition.
Dubbed by Oprah as “the most talented girl in the world,” Jake can effortlessly hit high notes and is often compared to singing divas like Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey.
Her most successful hit to date is “Pyramid” featuring Iyaz, which peaked at the Billboard Hot 100 chart at number 56, and charted within the Top 40 in a number of countries.
