Malaysia’s upcoming Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS) will open for business next week, 26 June 2017 in Ipoh, Perak!
The theme park which is the first fully animation-based theme park in Asia and second international theme park to open in Malaysia after Legoland, will have over 40 attractions spread across six thematic zones.
The six zones are Animation Square, Dream, Blast Off, Live Action, Lakeside and Fantasy Forest.
Created from a joint venture between Perak Corporation Berhad and the Sanderson Group, the theme park contains attractions based on DreamWorks Animation such as “The Croods”, “Mr Peabody & Sherman” and “Megamind”.
There are also attractions based on “The Smurfs”, “Casper” and Malaysia’s very own “BoBoiBoy”.
“We are happy that finally, the public can enjoy a world-class theme park in Malaysia, especially in Ipoh,” said Animation Theme Park Sdn Bhd director Ramelle Ramli as quoted by The Sun Daily.
“There are many attractions that are a first-of-a-kind in the world, Asia and Malaysia.”
“We are expecting between one and 1.2 million visitors a year. One of our strategies is to see MAPS as the focal point,” he continued.
Normal ticket price for adults is at RM190 while for children and senior citizens, tickets are is at RM150 each.
However, since the park is opening in conjunction with the Hari Raya holiday, there will be an opening promo which costs as low as RM104.
