You may not heard of her before, but 18-year-old Maggie Lindemann is a huge star on social media, way before she debut herself as a singer.

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Maggie has always loved singing and she has been doing it since she way four years old.

As a teenager, Maggie started posting recordings of her singing on the social media app Keek, quickly gaining a following both on the app and her other social media accounts.

Her career began shortly after she was discovered by her current manager via Instagram.

As the story goes, then 16-year-old Maggie Lindemann said goodbye to her family in San Antonio and relocated to Los Angeles to create music in 2015.

With no traditional promotion, her 2015 independent debut single “Knocking on Your Heart” crashed into the Top 20 of iTunes Top Alternative Songs chart, while its follow-up “Couple of Kids” went Top 30.

Also, her 2016’s “Things” trended worldwide on Twitter and landed on Spotify’s Top 50 Viral Worldwide.

After signing to 300 Entertainment and Warner Music, the singer released her major label debut “Pretty Girl” on September 2016 which becomes her first song to ever chart on the US Pop Radio Charts as it peaked at 50. The song also charted at #21 on the UK Singles Chart.

With a face that kind of resembles stars like Selena Gomez and Megan Fox, we know that Maggie can definitely go far in this industry.

Check out the short interview we had with her.

It's already been two years since you started your music career, what was your initial reaction when you were first discovered?
I still don’t believe it. I kind of like super shocked when I first went in because we met at Capital Records for the first time. So that was insane! Yeah, it was mostly just surreal, but I was super excited.

How has everything been going since then?
Everything’s been really awesome. So I’ve been travelling a lot and being able to do a lot of touring, and releasing music is really awesome.

Starting a music career is such a huge gamble because there're so many currently talented artistes as well as up and coming ones, so what makes you decide to take this bold move?
It’s just something that I always wanted to do, so I kind of just went for it. It was never about becoming anyone or anything like that, it was just something that I love to do, so I wanted to do it.

Since there're a lot of music talents out there, how do you think your music stands out from the rest?
I don’t know, I think I just want to be genuine and stay true to myself. Not do what everyone else was being told to do, I think that makes me different from other people because I’m me – fully me. I think that sets me apart just a little bit.

You have credited Banks and Lana Del Ray as your main influences because you say they are "anti-pop stars", do you see yourself as an anti-pop star as well?
I don’t. I mean obviously I’m me, and I’ve known me since forever, so I don’t see myself as a celebrity or anything like that, I just see myself and me.

Have anyone ever told you that you look like Megan Fox or Selena Gomez? Who are the artistes that you're always mistaken for?
Actually, I do get that all the time. Sometimes, I get Miley Cyrus too, which I think it’s more of the personality and not the look.

You're currently working on your debut album, tell us what can we expect from it?
So I’m working with a bunch of talents right now, and we’re trying to come up with the perfect cool sound. I can’t really talk much about it, but it’s going to be really cool and I’m very excited for everyone to hear it.

I'm sure there will be a tour for this album, but will it include Asia or Southeast Asia?
I hope so!  We’ve been talking a lot about touring overseas.  I really hope that I can come over to that side of the world.

What else are you working on?
We’re mostly working on some new songs to come up with next, hopefully this sometime this summer. We’re also talking a lot about touring and going overseas. But we have a lot of stuff in the works right now that we’re trying to figure out.

Do you wish try something other than singing? Like maybe acting?
I’m definitely interested in acting. I used to go to an acting school when I was young. Right now I’m trying to focus more on the music, but if the acting opportunity came, I’d definitely take it up.
