Following his bike accident on Monday, Ed Sheeran was forced to cancel five shows from his Divide Asia Tour after fracturing his right wrist and left elbow due to a bicycle accident in London.

According to a post he shared on Instagram, the places affected include Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.

“A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future,” the Grammy-winning artiste wrote.

“Sadly, this means that the following shows will not be able to go ahead as planned: Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong. I’m waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that,” the singer shared.

On his recent visit to The Jonathan Ross Show, Sheeran revealed that he was persuaded to postpone his upcoming shows in Asia as the injuries could prevent him from playing guitar in the future if he forces it.

Sheeran’s injuries are expected to recover in four weeks, so that means that he might still be able to make it to the Southeast Asian leg of his tour.

His Southeast Asia tour will kick off 7 November until 16 November, featuring stops in Manila, Jakarta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok.

“I do a one-man show, so me not having my arms is half of the show, so I’ve had to postpone a couple of shows which sucks,” Sheeran said as quoted by People.

“Sometimes a show has been cancelled because a promoter has done something, but it’s the first time that I’ve ever actually cancelled a show,” he added.
