Miss Malaysia World 1991, actress and producer Samantha Schubert has passed away due to cancer.
The 47-year-old personality had taken her last breath at the Prince Court Medical Centre at 7.16pm yesterday.
Schubert started off as a model before delving into the acting world, having starred in films like “Red Scorpion 2” (1994), “Amok” (1997) and “The Red Kebaya” (2006).
Her close friends from the industry like Tan Sri Tiara Jacquelina and Afdlin Shauki had taken to their social media to share their condolences.
“My dear friend, the beautiful Samantha Schubert (from the movie Red Kebaya), has gone to be with the angels, just minutes ago. Samantha was one of the members of the Kit Kat Klub show, and could dance to Paula Abdul's Straight Up like nobody else could. Rest well, laugh and keep dancing dear Sam. I'll miss the friendship we shared since we were young, free and single. May your strength live on in the beautiful children you raised. Love you Sam.. and I'm really going to miss you. #RiPsamanthaschubert” posted Tiara Jacquelina on her Facebook page.
"My friend Samantha Schubert has passed away today due to cancer. She was 47. She leaves behind two of her adopted and one biological children. She was one who was really kind hearted that she would adopt someone without caring about race. She was always willing to help her friends. Such a good person. Goodbye friend,” posted Afdlin on his Facebook page.
The local film industry has seen two losses this month. Veteran comedy actor Mr. Os had passed away on 8 April at the age of 55-years-old.
