With over 60 countries participating, Red Bull as the global organiser is continuing its search in Malaysia for the best team, by providing a platform for undiscovered Malaysian football talents to shine at the finals which will take place at the Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr. in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
There will be four qualifiers which are categorized into two – open and university (only applicable for students with a valid student ID) categories:
Open qualifiers:
Sports Prima, Perindustrian Sri Purnama, Johor (10 March 2018)
Sports Planet Ampang, Kuala Lumpur (31 March 2018)
University qualifiers:
Sunway University, Sunway City, Selangor (17 March 2018)
Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang, Selangor (25 March 2018)
The best 16 teams from the qualifiers will play and compete in the National Finals at Sunway University, Selangor.
The tournament is open to teams of five to seven players aged 18 to 25, no gender limitations. However, each team is allowed to have two over-aged players and three non-Malaysian players in the squad.
Neymar Jr.'s Five is the global five-a-side football tournament created by Brazilian and Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar Jr. with an unconventional gameplay.
There are only three rules applied on the pitch; each match will last only 10 minutes, there is no goalkeeper, and whenever a team scores, the opposition loses a player making the game fast, technical, and fun. When the whistle blows, the team with the most players standing wins the match.
