K-pop girl group Apink has performed in Malaysia numerous times but last weekend’s “2018 Apink Asia Tour in Kuala Lumpur” was the group’s first time headlining their own show in the country.

Leader Cho-rong and her fellow members Na-eun, Eun-ji, Ha-young, Bo-mi, and Nam-joo were tickled pink to see their Malaysian Pink Pandas flooding the venue on the event day, waving around their trademark panda-shaped lightsticks.

“We’ve done this Asia Tour for three years but this is the first time we finally get to take it to Malaysia,” said the girls during the show held at Menara PGRM last Saturday.

The six-member girl group kicked off their show with “I’m So Sick”, the title track of their seventh and latest mini album “One & Six”.

After a short greeting, during which Eun-ji admitted that she had been longing to come back to Malaysia as everyone around her (family members, friends) have been visiting the country, the girls continued the show with their 2015 and 2016 releases, “FIVE”, “Only One” and “Remember”.

Apink hyped up the crowd even more when they performed “Boom Pow Love” and “Kok Kok”.

Eun-ji wanted to hear the fans sing along with them.
Ha-young (with Na-eun at the back) wanted the fans to sing along too.
“We’re happy that with our own show, we get to perform stages that we normally wouldn’t be able to. I think this is our first time performing this here,” the girls said before sitting down to croon the ballad “Miss You”.

They followed it up with “Ding Dong”, “Cause You’re My Star” and “Alright”.

While at first Apink appeared on stage looking sharp in their blue outfits (pants and cropped tops for Eun-ji and Na-eun and dresses for the rest), they later switched it up to a more cutesy and fun look with their red and white outfits that exuded a bright summer feel.

With those cheerful looks, the girls sang “Forever Star” and “Eyes” before wrapping up the show with their hit songs “NoNoNo”, “LUV”, and “Mr. Chu”.

Apink fans, officially known as Pink Pandas, came armed
with slogans and lightsticks to cheer on Apink.

Of course, during the show, aside from performing their songs, the girl group also took the time to interact with their fans during the intermissions.

Na-eun took the chance to show off her English skills as she spoke of her recent work in Paris, Bo-mi promoted her YouTube channel, Ha-young showed she was a true SONE as she did a little performance of Girls’ Generations’ “Into the New World” and Eun-ji promoted her upcoming solo album and solo concert and horror movie appearance (she’s one busy girl), for the latter she hilariously admitted that she will not have any lines but will only act scared.

Meanwhile, the girls also found a name for Cho-rong’s plant, which is now christened “nasi lemak”, after the popular dish fans recommended them to try in Malaysia.

“I will keep sharing Nasi Lemak’s growth with all of you,” Cho-rong solemnly promised her Pink Pandas.

“Who met us when we first came to Malaysia?” they asked and laughed when almost all of the hands in the hall shot up.

To test if the fans were telling the truth, the girls asked if it was raining on that day and a resounding “Yes!” echoed around the hall, making the girls smile even brighter because that was the correct answer.

Apink first came to Malaysia in 2012 for “one FM THE ONE Concert”, which, as the girls revealed, was their first ever event outside of Korea. They have also performed at MTV World Stage 2015 and last year’s K-Wave Music Festival.
