Actress Datin Marlia Musa recently stated that she and her husband Datuk M.Nasir are still grieving over the loss of the latter's father Mohamed Sam, who passed away Thursday (28 Jan).
The actress, who shared the sad news on social media yesterday, stated that the most frustrating of all was the fact that they could not return to Singapore to bid their last farewell and attend the funeral in Singapore due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We've tried our best to get the approval to travel to Singapore, but the authority had said no due to the pandemic. My husband has already accepted the situation," she said.
Marlia admitted that it had been a year since the family had the opportunity to visit Sam, and were only able to communicate with him prior through phone and video calls.
Mohamed Sam's funeral will be arranged by M Nasir's other siblings, all eight of them currently residing in Singapore.
Suci’s dedication to her grandfather |
The couple's daughter Suci has also dedicated a post about the loss on Instagram, writing, "Today I lost my grandfather. The only one I knew since I was born. Growing up living 350km apart was always kinda hard. Of course when I was a kid, I didnt know it yet. looking back, I was so awkward and shy around elders. Especially if I'm not always around them. So a lot of his prime time I wasnt able to talk to him properly. Instead, exchanging vague conversations."
"I never thought this day would come. genuinely I thought he was gonna live forever. He gave me great advice though... and he gave the best hugs, forgetting how strong he actually was, he’d hug you and pat you so hard on the back. I’ll miss those hugs. I'm so utterly grateful for the times I got to spend with you. Even if most of the time we spent it in silence. I love u forever. Words will never be able to express how much I’ll miss u."
