The crown prince of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has presented a handsome reward to Penang footballer Faiz Subri for his physics-defying wonder goal that has been shortlisted for the finals of 2016 FIFA Puskas Award.
The Star has reported that Tunku Ismail, who is also the patron of the Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia (PFAM) will award the player a cash reward of RM15,000 as a token of appreciation for his achievement of being in the top three for this year's FIFA Puskas Award.
On the official Johor Southern Tigers’ Facebook, the crown prince had also made it clear that the reward has nothing to do with the speculation of Faiz Subri joining JDT (Johor Darul Ta’zim) for the next season of the Malaysian league.
The 29-year-old midfielder will be going up against Brazil's Marlone and Venezuela’s Daniuska Rodriguez for the final round of voting.
