Seven-member Kpop boy group BTS is bringing their new tour to Southeast Asia this year!
Dubbed as “2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour”, BTS, also known as Bangtan Boys, will be kicking off their Southeast Asia tour in April, staring with Bangkok and stopping by other cities in the region like Jakarta, Manila, Hong Kong and Australia.
The tour is in support of their second album, “Wings” which charted at #1 on iTunes in over 26 countries, and also debuted at number 26 on the Billboard 200, marking the highest chart ranking for a Kpop album.
Consisting of members, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Rap Monster, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, BTS debuted in 2013 with their first album “2 Cool 4 Skool”, and had won several “New Artist of the Year” awards at ceremonies like the 2013 MelOn Music Awards, Golden Disk Awards, and the 2014 Seoul Music Awards.
Their group name comes from the Korean word Bangtan Sonyeondan (防弾少年団), which literally translated as “Bulletproof Boy Scouts”.
The boys are known for their large international fanbase, having performed and sold out tours in Asia, Europe, Australia, North America and South America, and were listed by Forbes as the most retweeted artist on Twitter in March 2016.
BTS also wins 2016 Mnet Asian Music Award for Artist of the Year.
The dates of the group Southeast Asian tour are as follows:-
22-23 April 2017– Bangkok, IMPACT Arena Muangthong Thani
29 April 2017 – Jakarta, Indonesia Convention Exhibition
6-7 May 2017 – Manila, Mall of Asia Arena
