Malaysian award-winning rapper, SonaOne, will star in new reality TV series by KIX, “The Ultimate BROcation”, featuring three other renowned Southeast Asian male celebrities, as they go on a fun adventure in Hong Kong.

“The Ultimate BROcation” is a five-episode reality series following the adventures of four male celebrities including Filipino-American singer, dancer and actor Billy Crawford, popular Thai TV and radio host DJ PK, Singaporean maverick chef and restaurateur Bjorn Shen, and SonaOne himself!

The series will see the boys revel in an all-expense paid vacation of every guy’s fantasy in Hong Kong, featuring wild parties, exhilarating activities, fantastic food, beautiful ladies, cool gadgets and some solid male-bonding.

“I love travelling and exploring new places to find experiences that inspire me. I’m looking forward to checking out all that Hong Kong has to offer and I am absolutely certain it won’t disappoint. Who knows, this whole experience might inspire a new project where I get to pay tribute to the wonderful people and places I encounter,” said SonaOne.

The series will also feature Hong Kong martial arts star Philip Ng as a cameo, who will be showing the ‘bros’ around the city and act as an advisor during their “brocation”.

“I’m excited to hang out with my new bros too because there’s always something to learn from each other – it will be cool to learn about food from Bjorn or pick up a few handy phrases in Thai from PK!” he added.

For an average person, it usually takes around one to two minutes to change from one simple outfit to another, and that’s like that fastest time you can do it!

But for Malaysian magician duo, Avery Chin and Sylvia Lim, they can change into 18 costumes in less than one minute!

To celebrate the upcoming national holiday week in China, Happy Valley theme park in Wuhan, Hubei had invited a range of talented magicians including husband and wife pair Chin and Lim, to perform at the venue throughout the special occasion.

Chin and Lim then took the opportunity to attempt to break the Guinness World Records for the “Most Costume Change Illusions in One Minute by an Individual”.

A few weeks before, the record was previously held by fellow Malaysian magicians, Mark and Pinky from Vivas Magic, who accomplished a total of 16 changes out of 17 costumes, at Sunway Pyramid on 11 September 2016.

The event was attended by a representative from Guinness World Records, Charles Wharton to ensure that all of the rules were followed.

The best part of the performance was during the finale when Chin threw a bag of glittery confetti over Lim, revealing her final costume – a beautiful long white gown!

Remember last year when having hot guys as food vendors seems to be the new marketing strategy?

There’s that hunky Malaysian durian seller Jordan Yeoh, who is a fitness coach and also a model, there’s also Yi Tin Chen from Taiwan who is the world’s hottest bean curd seller, and let’s not forget that other Taiwanese pretty boy You Shenglun, a sexy, topless baker.

Fatin helps out her mother at a stall called Roti Canai Kak Ros at Bidor, Perak.

She has already gained more than 35k followers on Instagram after the video of her kneading roti canai, shared by Kini Trending, has gone viral on social media, garnering 313k views, 1.1k reactions, and 1.3k shares.

Remember Piko-Taro, the guy who took the social media by storm with his odd yet addictive song “Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen” or in short, “PPAP”?

Well, he is back with a new song, and yes, it’s just as weird!

Titled “Neo Sunglasses”, the song pretty much has the same formula as “PPAP” – it’s pointless, weird, repetitive, and strangely catchy.

Piko-Taro’s viral song, “PPAP” was originally posted on 25 August, but it only started going viral globally when Justin Bieber shared it.

The video now has more than 35 million views!

Anyway, check out his new, equally weird song which has already gotten more than 3 million views.

Popular Malaysian singer Yuna hits another milestone with her very own filter on SnapChat.

The Los-Angeles based singer introduced the new filter via the popular photo-sharing app after a show in Atlanta with the text, “Thank you Atlanta, and Usher too for coming on stage!”

In her next pic, she wrote, “Yuna filter YAS” which featured the filter with the header text “Chapters US Tour” and a footer of her name at the bottom.

There is also the swirly-style art of her “Chapters” album cover at the edges of the picture.

The 29-year-old songbird also posted a photo of her with rising musician Bosco, whom she had previously performed with on several shows.

However, some SnapChat filters are geo-specific, which means that Yuna fans in Malaysia may not be able to use the filter.

Former lead singer of English rock band The Stranglers is set to pay homage to one of the greatest British rock star in the world, David Bowie!

Paul Roberts will be performing in Malaysia for the first time, and he will be singing dozens of Bowie’s classic hits, from “Space Oddity” through to smash hit “Let’s Dance” to the wonderful “The Next Day” – it will be a night to remember.

The 56-year-old singer was the lead singer of The Stranglers between 1990 and 2006, replacing Hugh Cornwall in 1990, and co-writing some of the band’s studio albums like “Stranglers in the Night”, “About Time”, “Written in Red”, “Coup de Grace”, and “Norfolk Coast”.

The band is one of the longest-surviving and most “continuously successful” bands to have originated in the UK punk scene of the mid to late 1970s, scoring 23 “UK top 40 singles” and 17 “UK top 40 albums” to date in their four-decade span career.

Having been in the music industry for a long time, Paul decided that it would be fitting for him to pay respectful homage to Bowie and keep his music playing.

Paul is set to bring Bowie’s fabulous pop songs to life with his entirely unintended but uncanny resemblance to Bowie.

Backed by his 4-piece band of leading British musicians, the stage show titled “Let's Dance - Paul Roberts Sings David Bowie” will take place on 6 and 7 November 2016, 8pm at Avenue K rooftop.

Tickets cost RM100 per entry and can be bought at ticketcharge.com.my.

Samsung ends Galaxy Note 7 permanently

Samsung has officially announced to permanently cease production of its flagship Galaxy Note 7 smartphone on Tuesday less than two months after its launch in August.

The decision was finalised after multiple reports of the devices exploding and catching fire spontaneously due to overheating

“Taking our customer’s safety as our highest priority, we have decided to halt sales and production of the Galaxy Note 7,” said Samsung in a statement obtained by The Verge.

The company initially concluded the defect was caused by faulty batteries from one of their suppliers, so they recalled all of the phones in September and shipped new Galaxy Note 7s containing batteries from a different supplier, which they insisted to be safe.

However, several of the replacement phones were also reported to have caught fire and blew up.

“Samsung will ask all carrier and retail partners globally to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note 7”, said the South Korean electronics company.

Ben Affleck learns Malaysian martial art in new movie

$

Ben Affleck has revealed that he has been taking silat lessons for his upcoming action thriller “The Accountant”.

Silat is a martial arts technique that hasn’t been seen in too many movies before, so the fights in the movie felt really fresh and new, visually. And, unlike Batman, I couldn’t wear a mask, so I had to do more of the action myself than I did in that movie,” said Affleck in an interview transcript by Warner Bros via Star 2.

“I spent a lot of time learning the choreography and rehearsing and practising these elaborate fights months and months ahead of filming. It could be very difficult and trying, but when it worked right, it looked really, really elegant and beautiful, even though it was part of war,” he continued.

The reason why the particular martial art was chosen is because director Gavin O’Connor wanted a certain type of style that would explain Affleck’s character during his childhood training and his need for order.

“I’d never even heard of silat before, but it’s incredibly efficient, so it served our purpose in a very cinematic way. We honed in on that form and built the action around it,” said the director.

Silat is an indigenous martial arts originated and widely practised in Southeast Asia, especially in Malaysia and Indonesia.

“The Accountant” follows Christian Wolff, a math savant who prefers dealing with numbers more than with people, but he is also a freelance forensic accountant for dangerous criminal organisations.

Starring Ben Affleck, Anna Kendrick and J.K. Simmons, “The Accountant” hits cinemas in Singapore on 13 October, and 20 October for Malaysia.
