Sony announced that they have perfected the real Proton Pack, a product designed to capture supernatural content from a parallel dimension.

In case you haven’t realised, the Proton Pack is also the energy weapon used for capturing ghosts in the “Ghostbusters” universe.

This is how it looks like in the film.

Sony even unveiled the advertisement of the device earlier today saying that “it is equipped with a state-of-the-art, miniaturized superconducting synchrotron, which accelerates injected protons from a hydrogen plasma cell,” and it actually looks pretty legit!

The all-female “Ghostbusters” team.

Who thought that with the rapid enhancement of technology today, we could actually develop a device that we only thought was fictional and existed in the movies?

We should’ve seen this coming since we’ve also seen stuff from the “Back to the Future” movies coming to life like the light-up Nike shoes and the hoverboard!

Check out the advertisement below.

OK. In case you haven’t realised this by now, yes, this is a fake news and the device doesn’t really exist.

Happy April’s Fool day everyone, you just got fooled!

The all-female led rebooted “Ghostbusters” will be out on 14 July 2016, starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth with Paul Feig as the director.

Queen Bey has launched her new sportswear collection of the athleisure variety called Ivy Park.

She even released a video which talks about her childhood and daughter, and also featured her working out in the Ivy Park sportswear, but we can’t help to notice that the tone of the video seems to be a bit dramatic and heavy – she’s just promoting the sports line, right?

“When I have to conquer those things, I still go back to that park. Before I hit the stage, I go back to that park. When it was time for me to give birth, I went back to that park. The park became a state of mind. The park became my strength,” Bey says in the video.

In collaboration with British businessman Sir Philip Green, who owns the Topshop fashion chain, the sportswear collection features leggings, T-shirts, crop-tops and jackets which are all designed for fitness and leisure wear.

The sports line will go on sale on 14 April 2016 at Nordstrom, Topshop and Net-a-Porter in the U.S. and is expected to make its way in Asia too!

To celebrate the release of the beloved Disney’s live-action remake of “The Jungle Book”, French luxury fashion house Kenzo has unveiled a limited-edition capsule collection of men’s and women’s pieces inspired from the original animated classic.

In collaboration with Disney, Kenzo’s apparels feature the original drawings of the characters from the 1967 animated film taken from Disney’s archives, which include characters like Mowgli, Baloo, Bagheera, King Louie, and Shere Khan who replaces the brand’s own tiger emblem.

We did a beautiful print mixing all these elements together. We put it on beautiful dresses, jackets, denim, jersey, sweatshirts — a bunch of different things,” said Kenzo co-creative director Carol Lim to WWD.

A few weeks ago, Zoo Negara (The National Zoo of Malaysia) has launched a new programme called the Giant Panda Keeper Experience which allows the public to get close and experience being a panda keeper, and the response of the programme is overwhelming.

According to The Star, all of the slots for this month are fully taken, and each day is limited to only three people, meaning that more than 100 people have already registered for the programme since it has started since 18 March.

“Many have requested and signed up for the programme. We are now arranging the duty schedule for May,” said Zoo Negara education department head Junaidi Omar.

The programme follows the footsteps of China’s Chengdu Panda Keeper Programme at Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding which is meant to educate the public about the dying breed and ways to conserve them.

Nevertheless, Zoo Negara in Malaysia is not the only place that practices this educational programme, there are several countries in Asia that have similar approach on their wildlife.

1.Wildlife Reserves Singapore – Junior Zoo Keeper
The programme is basically similar to the one in Malaysia except for the age range. While the Malaysian programme is open only for those aged 16 and above, the Singapore’s is looking for those aged between 11 to 14 years old. Also, the Junior Zoo Keeper programme focuses more on a wide range of animals instead of only one like the Malaysia’s panda programme. The juniors will learn how to prepare food for the animals and then feed them and also come up with enrichment activities for the animals

2.Bali Zoo – Zookeeper for a Day

Bali Zoo’s programme also allows the public to get close and personal with some of the animals in the zoo except that there is no age range for this programme. Some of the animals that the volunteers may encounter are the Sumatran elephants, bearcat, wallaby, gibbons and the Bengal tiger cubs. Some of the activities here include preparing dietary nourishment for the animals, create various type of enrichment toys as well as nursing and interacting with the baby animals.

3.Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center – Bear Keeper for a Day

Like the Malaysia’s panda programme, the public will get a chance to get up close and personal with the sun bears and moon bears at Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center. For this programme, volunteers will get to learn how the animals are cared, prepare meals, enrichment toys and special treats for them, and then hide the food in the bear’s enclosures. However, volunteers of the programme are not allowed to hold, touch or have any direct contact with the bears at the center.

Maxis is under attack due to ‘unfair treatment’ towards customers

$

Malaysia’s biggest communication service provider, Maxis is currently facing a lot of troubles as many of its customers are threatening to leave the telco due to the company’s unfair treatment to its loyal customers.

It all started when one very unhappy Maxis customer who goes by the name jackson5759 wrote a long and detailed post on a forum at Lowyat.net, complaining about the telco’s cheap mobile plan offers to certain users as well as those live in East Malaysia.

jackson5759 confessed that he has been a loyal customer of Maxis for almost 10 years and he was never offered a cheaper plan from the telco, while his friend who has only been using Maxis for a few years, was offered not one but FOUR cheaper plans she decided to switch to Celcom service.

“I’m [a] loyal Maxis customer for almost 10 years with 5 numbers under my IC and paying much more than my friend [but] I didn't get such offer from Maxis,” read the post on Lowyat.net.

After calling Maxis and enquired about the matter, Maxis said that the offer is only given to “selected customers”.

Trying to get the same deal as his friend, jackson5759 also decided to switch to Celcom, and at some point, he received a call from Maxis and was offered the cheaper plan – which he rejected at the end of the day.

jackson5759 also said that Maxis offers cheaper plans for the people in East Malaysia compared to the rest of the country.

After that, the post has gone viral on social media, and many consumers of Maxis have decided to leave the service provider and switch to rival telcos like Celcom or Digi.

Maxis then responded with a statement on Facebook, saying:-
"You may have read of an exaggerated Maxis save offer in the lowyat.net forum that has been circulating recently when it was first posted on 9 March 2016. We just want to say that this save offer does not exist in the way it was described.
As with any company that has good data on customers, we often design and run targeted campaigns based on factors such as tenure, types of services used, payment history and many more. These targeted campaigns are to ensure that customers get to try out the varied services and plans that Maxis offers.
Sometimes Maxis uses offers to stimulate trial of new services. Every now and then we also offer special deals to get our customers to switch in their family members as Maxis customers or to extend a contract.
Additionally, in conjunction with Maxis’ 4G expansion into more towns in Sabah and Sarawak, we launched an introductory 4G promotion that comes with more data. We simply want the East Malaysian residents to enjoy the 4G experience with the upgraded network. The network upgrade has already happened in other parts of the country and now brings the same improved performance to 8 towns across East Malaysia."

Despite Maxis’ attempt to shed light on the whole situation, many customers are still unimpressed and continue to criticise and slam the telco on their Facebook page.

Thrill-seekers stuck mid-air on Universal Studios Singapore’s Battlestar Galactica ride

Singapore’s famous theme park, Universal Studios had some of it visitors stuck mid-air for about 20 minutes on Wednesday (6 April 2016) afternoon when its star attraction, the Battlestar Galactica roller coaster faced some technical difficulties.

A representative from Resort World Sentosa (RWS) which manages Universal Studios Singapore (USS) told The Straits Times that the USS team have followed the standard operating procedures where the riders were evacuated safely from the lower section of the ride.

“The Battlestar Galactica: Human vs Cylon roller coaster experienced a technical error at about 4pm today,” he said. “The safety of our guests is our top priority and a thorough routine safety check was completed before we resumed the ride at 5.08pm.”

Touted as the world’s tallest duelling roller-coaster, this is not the first time that the ride faced a technical issue.

One week after it was opened in 2010, one of the seats fell off during the routine test and the ride's licence was immediately suspended. It then went through months of investigations, redesigning, reassembling, testing and reviewing until last May, when it reopened again featuring brand new two-seater cars instead of the previous four-seater ones.

Airline fees in Malaysia will supposedly increase by ten-fold next week

$

0

For those of you who plan on taking a flight soon, hurry up and book your tickets right away before 15 April 2016, as all airlines in Malaysia including Malaysia Airlines (MAS), AirAsia and Malindo Air – will be charging its passengers 10 times more than before!

Such changes are made by the Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia (DCA) who will be increasing all air travel-related fees by 1,000 percent for all airlines operating out of Malaysia by next week.

Normal flight tickets from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu which usually cost around RM160 to RM176 in air navigation flight charges (ANFC), will now cost RM1,600 to RM1,760.

The reason for the high cost is because DCA has made a review on the fees and charges imposed on airlines, thus everything from the usage of air space, air traffic facilities and other services; to the air operator’s certificate (AOC) and the pilot’s flight licence, will see a massive hike in prices.

Many local airlines are shocked by the sudden increase, thus they have demanded for DCA to clarify the basis of the charges as they believe it will have adverse effects on the industry and also make Malaysia less competitive, The Star reports.

“This new fees will make us less competitive. The fees are higher than that of Singapore and even Thailand, and we cannot compare the new pricing with that of Australia and New Zealand, as there they are much more efficient,” said an airline executive.

Nevertheless, some aviation executives are defending the increase by saying that it has been more than 40 years since the DCA had last revised its fees.

“The airlines have to be fair to the DCA. It has not raised its fees in 40 years. It is a long time. The DCA cannot retain its old pricing and still provide up-to-date services,” said the aviation executive.

DCA director-general Datuk Seri Azharuddin Abdul Rahman also mentioned, “If you look at the statistics, we are still the lowest in the world, and even if we increase the fees, it will still be lower compared to some other countries in this region.”

Gindaco, one of the most famous takoyaki brands in Tokyo with over 300 chains all around Japan – is now available in Aeon Shopping Mall, Shah Alam, Malaysia.

The popular Japanese snack is brought in by Loob Holding, the company which also introduced Chatime, Tino’s Pizza, Soda Express and llaollao to Malaysia, in collaboration with the Japanese public-listed company Hotland Co which has eight brands under it at 669 locations in seven countries.

“This is the brand DNA that we are looking for – fast moving products, automation and scalability. This allows us to have consistency in quality, as well as reduce the training time needed for the staff,” said Loob Holding managing director Bryan Loo.

Loo also plans to expand Gindaco to 40 outlets within three years, and also to introduce it to Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore.

In conjunction with the opening of the first shop in Malaysia, customers who buy the Japanese snack will receive a complimentary glass of green tea with every purchase.

The promotion starts from today onwards until 31 May 2016.

Unlike other takoyaki shops in Malaysia, Gindaco serves four variants of takoyaki – Original, Negidako, Cheese Mentaiko and Teritama, and each takoyaki will contain 8 grams of high quality octopus, Malaysian Foodie reports.

The Original flavour is Gindaco’s flagship, sprinkled with Gindaco’s signature sauce and topped with dried seaweed and bonito flakes.

The Negidako flavour comes with tempura dipping sauce and is topped with white radish and green onions, as well as dried seaweed and also bonito flakes.

Bebe Rexha, who is probably most recognisable for being featured in David Guetta’s “Hey Mama”, has come forth with her own new song titled “No Broken Hearts”, the lead single from her upcoming debut album.

The song features sexy rap queen Nicki Minaj who previously also collaborated with Bebe on David Guetta’s “Hey Mama”, as both of them also co-wrote Bebe’s song “No Broken Hearts”.

Bebe is also credited for writing and producing songs for a number of mainstream artistes like Eminem, Selena Gomez, Pitbull, Bella Thorne, Havana Brown, Iggy Azalea and Nick Jonas.

Debuting on YouTube, “No Broken Hearts” is urban pop club anthem that talks about drowning your sorrows away by dancing and drinking.

Bebe’s voice is certainly mesmerising and the chorus can be quite addictive too!

In the video, Bebe shows off all of her assets by wearing skimpy outfits as she also showcases her sexy dance moves.

All of the attention is on Bebe until Nicki appears of course, and steals the limelight with her strong rap verse and most importantly, NSFW butt-twerking moves!
