Getting a tattoo is no longer unique in today’s age as it is quite a norm.

But nevertheless, there are some individual tattoos that will evoke various reactions, especially if the tattoos belong to someone known.

The skin-ink certainly has evolved into something quite bizarre today as seen on social media.

In Hollywood, there are all kinds of weird and crazy tattoos among celebrities and those artworks can sometime leave a huge impact on the stars’ image and career.

Some of the tattoos are a reflection of their journey to stardom, some relate to their family and loved ones, while some allude to faith, but most of them are just plain weird.

Check out some of the weirdest celebrity tattoos on the internet!

Cara Delevigne

Johnny Depp
Well this is funny, Johnny Depp's "Winona Forever" tattoo has been changed to "Wino Forever". Winona is the actor's ex-girlfriend.

Justin Bieber
The singer got a tattoo of his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez when they were still together. After breaking up, he tried to "cover her face up with some shading, but people still know".

Cambodian duo Kmeng Khmer talks “Jailbreak” OST

“Jailbreak” is now showing in cinemas! When watching the movie, one of the things that really stand out is its official soundtrack. Also titled “Jailbreak”, the cool-sounding music that blends traditional with modern is the work of two talented Cambodian entertainers that go by the name Kmeng Khmer.

Consisting of rapper Koa Punleur and singer Chea Socheat, the popular duo is known for songs such as “My Way”, “Love Diary” and “Heartbroken”.

JaiKon recently had the chance to sit down with Kmeng Khmer and ask them about their experience on not only working on the OST – but also acting in the action-packed movie!

The duo appears in the movie directed by Jimmy Henderson alongside French-Cambodian action star Jean-Paul Ly, Bokator fighter Dara Our, MMA fighter Tharoth Sam, actor Savin Phillip, actress Celine Tran and Prince Sisowath Siriwudd.

Let’s find out what Kmeng Khmer has to say about “Jailbreak”:

Kmeng Khmer’s music video for the “Jailbreak” OST [Watch it here].

JaiKon: How did you guys get involved in producing the OST for “Jailbreak”?

Socheat:We had our album launching last year and Loy [“Jailbreak” producer] came to see us then. He liked our music so he told us about the film he was making. He asked us if we were interested in working on it too.

After Loy met us, he contacted our manager, Baramey Production. We made a deal to make an OST for “Jailbreak”. The concept and everything is from Loy and Jimmy [“Jailbreak” director].

Punleur: Then we worked on the song with Morm Picherith, he’s our music producer. Socheat and I were responsible for the lyrics and rap parts. We each wrote our own parts in the song.

Did you watch the movie or snippets of it before coming up with the song? What was your inspiration for it?

Punleur: We didn’t watch it first.

Socheat: We made the song before the movie started shooting. We went and trained every day with the stunt team to get our inspiration from the fighting scenes.

Punleur: And Loy told us the concept of the story, gave his idea for the song.

How long did you take to complete the song?

Socheat: We spent nearly two months to make the song. We didn’t send them the draft. When we finished the whole structure, the whole sample draft, only then did we send it to them.

They didn’t have any problems with the song or ask for any changes to be made?

Punleur: Very little needed to be changed. Loy did ask us about the lyrics because it was hard to understand the meaning, both in Khmer and English, so we had to explain only that.

Kmeng Khmer likes their characters in “Jailbreak”.

How has the reception been for the “Jailbreak” OST?

Socheat: When we released the audio on our YouTube channel, a lot of people were asking us about it – what does this song mean, what is it for. We said: Keep calm, wait for the video [laughs]. Then the music video was released a few days ago and everyone was impressed by it.

The music video was also filmed on the “Jailbreak” set?

Socheat: Yeah. We filmed it on the movie set. We had D-Man dance crew, the original choreo dancer in Cambodia who always collaborates with us in our performances and videos, working with us in it too.

So Kmeng Khmer also appears in the movie, right? Does this mean we will be seeing more of you on the big screen?

Punleur: This is the first movie ever for Kmeng Khmer. Maybe we will be back for more but we’re not sure. Most filmmakers in Cambodia don’t really understand Kmeng Khmer. We have rejected a lot of acting offers.

Socheat: They want Kmeng Khmer to be the main character of the movie, but the movie is just funny or crazy. They try to change our personalities. It’s not us. Our characters in “Jailbreak” are us, the real us.

Catch both “Jailbreak” the OST and the movie, now showing in Cambodian cinemas!

Tokyo 2020 announces famous anime characters as ambassadors!

$

More than three years to go before the next Summer Olympics, but everyone is already hyped up as the official Olympic Channel announced some of the most amazing ambassadors for Tokyo 2020!

Featuring Japan’s most beloved pop-culture figures (although fictional), the awesome ambassadors announced are Sailor Moon, Luffy from “One Piece”, Naruto, Goku from “Dragon Ball Z”, Cure Miracle and Cure Magical from “Maho Girls PreCure”, Astro Boy, Shin-chan from “Crayon Shin-chan”, and Jibanyan from “Yo-Kai Watch”.

The anime characters will be featured on the official merchandise of Tokyo 2020.

While many were excited upon hearing the news, some questioned the absence of other globally famous characters like Pikachu from “Pokémon”, Nintendo games’ iconic characters such as Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog, or characters from the popular sports anime like “Slam Dunk”, “Haikyuu” and “Kuroko no Basuke” since the Olympics is a sporting event after all.

It is understandable why characters like Sailor Moon, Goku, Naruto and Luffy are chosen as they are globally famous and have been in the industry since the 90s, but some fans argued the inclusion of Jibanyan from “Yo-Kai Watch”, who is considerably new and should’ve been replaced with other more recognisable characters.

However, the video did suggest that the announcement is only the beginning, so maybe more awesome anime characters will be announced in the future!

Chatime Malaysia is now known as ‘Tea Is Our Life’

After the drama and dispute between Chatime former master franchisee for Malaysia, Loob Holding Sdn Bhd and its Taiwanese partner franchisor, La Kaffa International, CEO Bryan Loo has finally announced the new name that will be replacing the iconic brand via video, and it is called “Tea is Our Life”.

“Tea is more than a drink to us. Tea is life. And we’re going to brew something new for Malaysian tea drinkers,” writes the post of their new Facebook page which was recently created at the end of January.

With the sudden termination of Chatime contract in Malaysia that has shocked many long-time fans, Loo had announced that he would be rebranding all of his 165 outlets in Malaysia, and this has drawn concerns among some Malaysians, but Loo ensured that despite having a different name, it will be operated by the same team, “both employees and partners”.

“Change is inevitable, but transformation is a conscious choice. While we don't always have control over how or when the changes will occur in our life, we can choose how we are in relation to those changes,” Loo said on his Facebook page.

“Today we step onto a path of transformation, and move from being a victim of change to being a co-creator with change. Sometimes it's painful, sometimes it's beautiful, but we believe it will be a worthwhile journey ahead of us!,” he continued.

While the official launch date of the new “Tea is Our Life” brand is yet to be announced, we assume that it will be sometime in March, in conjunction with the closing of Chatime Malaysia.

Japan has Kit Kat sushi, and this time, it’s not an April’s Fool joke

Leave it to Japan for the weirdest creation of all time including their brand new Kit Kat sushi!

Yes, everyone around the world loves Kit Kats, but not as much as how the Japanese love them.

In conjunction with the opening of Nestlé’s new Kit Kat shop in Tokyo, the company is introducing an all-new Kit Kat sushi bars that come in three flavours – Maguro (tuna), Tamago (egg) and Uni (sea urchin).

Nevertheless, the flavours don’t taste anything like the varieties of sushi they’re modelled to look like, only the looks are inspired by it.

In fact, Maguro is a raspberry flavour Kit Kat on puffed rice covered with white chocolate, Uni has both Hokkaido melon and mascarpone cheese flavored Kit Kat wrapped in seaweed, while Tamago is pumpkin pudding flavoured Kit Kat on puffed rice with a strand of seaweed.

This isn’t the first time that Japan has introduced Kit Kat sushi. Last year, they did it as an April’s Fool joke.

However, due to the strong positive response, they decided to go ahead and create a few Kit Kat sushi for real.

Lady Gaga and all the Super Bowl performances of the past 15 years!

We all know that Lady Gaga is an amazing performer, but her powerful performance at the Super Bowl LI Halftime Show on Sunday was truly an unforgettable one.

Even if the people of this region don't really keep track of the American National Football League matches, the performances at the final game always gets the world talking!

But what surprised many even more is how “The Simpsons” had already predicted the diva’s performance at the Super Bowl five years ago with an episode titled “Lisa Goes Gaga”.

In the episode, the Mother Monster is seen suspended in the air on wires while singing – just like the real Gaga at Super Bowl!

The two performances are not exactly the same, and there are a few differences, such as Gaga didn’t wear a fire-shooting bra like in the animation, but the metallic outfit and thigh-high blue boots are still quite spot on!

This isn’t the first time “The Simpsons” predicted an event, back in 2000, they eerily predicted Trump presidency, and now people are starting to think that they are psychics!

Anyway, let’s take a look back at all the previous Super Bowl halftime shows! Which one is your favourite?

1.Super Bowl 50 halftime show (2016) – Coldplay, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Mark Ronson

2.Super Bowl XLIX halftime show (2015) – Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz, Missy Elliott

3.Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show (2014) – Bruno Mars, Red Hot Chili Peppers

4.Super Bowl XLVII halftime show (2013) – Beyoncé, Destiny's Child

5.Super Bowl XLVI halftime show (2012) – Madonna, LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, Cee Lo Green

6.Super Bowl XLV halftime show (2011) – The Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Slash

7.Super Bowl XLIV halftime show (2010) – The Who

8.Super Bowl XLIII halftime show (2009) – Bruce Springsteen

9.Super Bowl XLII halftime show (2008) – Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers

10.Super Bowl XLI halftime show (2007) – Prince

11.Super Bowl XL halftime show (2006) – The Rolling Stones

12.Super Bowl XXXIX halftime show (2005) – Paul McCartney

13.Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show (2004) – Jessica Simpson, Janet Jackson, P. Diddy, Nelly, Kid Rock, Justin Timberlake

14.Super Bowl XXXVII halftime show (2003) – Shania Twain, No Doubt, Sting

Malaysian musician Bernie Lu Huey has emerged as one of the top 12 semi-finalists of the Asia auditions of the prestigious Japanese singing talent show “I Can Sing in Japanese!”

Organised by Asian entertainment channel GEM, the biannual singing competition has been running since 2011 in Japan, attracting various aspiring non-Japanese singers from all over the world including Denmark, Spain, and even Jamaica.

The show is a platform to allow the non-Japanese singers who have a passion for singing Japanese songs to showcase their talents in front of a panel of professional judges.

The past panel of judges include veteran singer Akiko Wada, legendary producer Tetsuya Komuro, and leader of famous Japanese boy band SMAP, Masahiro Nakai.

Bernie will be going up against other finalists from Hong Kong, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines and Thailand.

The next round of auditions will take place this Sunday (12 February) in Singapore where only one winner will represent Asia at the global stage in Tokyo, this year.

Each season, around 12 to 16 groups of performers from all over the world are invited to Tokyo to compete on the show.

Some past winners from Asia include Singapore’s Jeremy Teng, Indonesia’s Fatimah Zahratunnisa and Michael David Bodin from the Philippines.

“I Can Sing in Japanese!” is set to air on the GEM Channel later this year.
